1) Levitation Charm
- Wingardium Leviosa
A basic charm mainly used for instruction purposes that causes an object to levitate at the caster's discretion. Very skilled wizards sometimes find creative uses for it.
2) Disarming Charm
Causes the target's wand to fly from their hand. With sufficient power behind it, a Disarming Charm may throw a victim back forcefully. Disarming Charms are mutually off-setting - when cast against eachother, they generally deflect. The Disarming Charm is also an effective counter to many spells
3) Unbreakable Charm
Causes a mundane object to become unbreakable by physical means, though strong magic can still destroy it.
Binds a victim with magically conjured ropes.
5) Assaulting Hex
- Oppugno or Awqana
Causes conjured objects or creatures to attack a victim.
Joel is an outgoing
guy who has learned to play with words skillfully
. He is a fan of sarcasm and riddles and enjoys confusing people. Being a muggle-born
, he dislikes everyone who talks bad about muggles and can get pretty short-tempered
Joel is easy-going
, even when he grew up in a conservative and religious family. He likes to help people and but he will always notice if someone takes advantage of him. It’s not easy to play a prank on him.
He is prideful
which can get pretty troublesome in terms of relationships. Being immature
he sometimes doesn’t like to say sorry or giving up. Joel is actually a sore loser
However, that doesn’t mean he’s not a good friend. In fact, Joel is very loyal
and would do crazy things to help out a friend. One could say that he is brave
It seems Joel is pretty much a typical Gryffindor
. Joel has gone through a lot of development in his years at Hogwarts. Starting from a little mud-blood “lost” in the magical world, he has become a decent magician. Joel has always taken classes and tests seriously and, despite his immature behavior that pops up sometimes, he has never missed classes. It is like he wants to prove his muggle parents that he will become a good magician. Although, he is indecisive with his career choice, Joel wants to become an acknowledge wizard one day who maybe can change the world.
But that, of course, is just a child’s dream.
Joel is on his way of growing up to become a mature young man. He will make right things and mistakes at the same time – but sometimes mistakes need to be made to have him realize what is important.Likes:

Joel’s life before Hogwarts
Magic has been always just a far-away phenomenon to him, until he turned eleven. Since he was a little child, Edvin – or better known as Joel
- he has been living in a normal muggle community in the heart of England: London.
Growing up in a conservative and religious family, Joel has enjoyed a peaceful childhood. He had a quite structured everyday routine: Exactly ten hours of sleep, family breakfast, going to elementary school, having piano and violin classes or going to the church every Sunday. Maron and William, both academics and members of the church, had big plans for their only son Joel, who they loved wholeheartedly – and they have had a secret hidden from him: William’s great-grandfather was known to be a wizard who got abandoned from the family. Joel’s parents fear that their son might “belong to one of those weirdos”, as how Maron always said. They simply wished to live a normal, non-magical life with Joel.
Their fear has become real on Joel’s eighth birthday. It was the first time when he let furniture float in the air from being so excited to receive his new bike – and it was Joel’s first encounter with the existence of another world he has never seen before. His parents forbid him to ever talk about magic or even use magic – although he didn’t know how he let things float on that day anyway – but Joel, who used to be a submissive child, slowly grew up to become rebellious. He was fascinated by magic.
Joel’s life changed completely on his eleventh birthday. It was the day when he received a letter from Hogwarts. He knew that it was his destiny to get involve with this magical world. He wanted to get out of his parents’ cage.
Although, his parents kept throwing the letters away, until - which was probably a rare case - the Hogwarts letter was delivered by a school official who talked this matter through with Joel's parents and tried to convince them that Hogwarts was the best choice for their child. After a long conversation they agreed, although Joel did have a feeling they weren't happy with their choice and that made him uneasy. Afterwards, they visited the Diagon Alley together in order to purchase the school supplies needed.
Hogwarts was soon his next destination.Joel’s life in Hogwarts
Starting off as a total beginner in magic in the first year, Joel was often laughed at.
Joel got fascinated by every little thing that was far away from what he called reality. He was a slow learner and had a hard time to use spells correctly, like Wingardium Leviosa
. However, Joel never gave up and spent sleepless nights to practice. Some students and professors called him a “hopeless case”. Joel would just laugh it off and prove them wrong in the future and so he worked even harder, but he mentally felt like something was off. During his whole time here he always had his mind focus else where whether he noticed or not. Then he realized after talking to a friend that it might actually be because of his parents who were really unhappy with Joel's new life, although they verbally agreed. Joel felt so uneasy that he was even scared to write them letters.
On a free day, Joel was allowed to visit his parents with his professor who noticed his "mental block". Their meeting ended in a lot of crying and apologizing – but his parents were willing to let go of Joel and maybe one day, they eventually will be proud of him. He promised to come to visit them every Christmas and started to write them letters.
After that event, Joel had finally a clear mind and using spells weren't as difficult as they used to be. With that, a year passed by.
He has grown up to become an immature kid who used silly spells on others who talked bad about muggles. Joel often got in trouble with that. However, he never missed classes and did all of his work diligently. He also found out that he had allergies against animals’ fur, which caused him to change his room from students with pets like cats or rats.
In his third year students noticed that Joel was quite good with flying on his broom and he was asked to join the Qudditch games. Since then, he sometimes was seen on the games.
In his fourth year a professor asked him to join the Hogwarts Orchestra
, since he was good at playing the piano and violin. He declined and always said that he wanted to keep his hobby private. Some people said that he was just shy.
All in all, he had a quite peaceful and funny time at Hogwarts. He even dated a girl for a few months and experienced things a teenager might be interested in: First kisses, trying alcohol, sneaking out of the school building at night – many silly, but happy events.
As he entered his fifth year, O.W.L.S was getting closer. Joel still didn’t know of how his future was going to be like and he was quite unsure of what to say when people asked him about his career choice. He has never been the type of person who plans things like his parents.
“Whatever comes will come!
” has become Joel’s typical quote.
Just like other students, he will do his best to get prepared for O.W.L.S., knowing that there will be many more exciting events to come in his magical life.Family:
